Get In The ZONE

Need a cool place to hang out? Come into the ZONE! A room specifically designed for Y members ages 10 & up equipped with games, pool table and more. Kids under 10 are welcome with parental supervision.

Indoor spaces available for rental are Child Watch, Basketball Gym/The Zone, and the Indoor Pool.

  • Party price is for 15 participants. Each additional guest is $5.
  • Each party lasts for an hour and a half. Each additional hour is $50.
  • Three weeks advance notice for indoor rentals

Beth Moore Bible Studies

Please join us for bible study as we learn and grow in the things of God through the teachings of Beth Moore.
Minimum number of 6 registrants is required.
“Believing God   bible study will meet on Tuesday mornings starting September 1 at 9:30 am. This study focuses on what true faith is and how to really trust God. This study lasts ten weeks. Cost is $25/Member and $30/Non-member.
“Esther” bible study will meet on two different days and times for this upcoming fall semester. Times are Thursday mornings starting September 3 at 9:30 am and Monday afternoons starting September 14 at 6:30 pm. “Esther” focuses on the book of “Esther” and how women today can become Esthers and lead others by godly examples to fulfill their god-given destiny. Even though it may be tough being a woman in today’s world, Mrs. Moore gives vital, life changing tips how to handle the hard and delicate issues that we face on a daily basis.
This study lasts twelve weeks. Cost of $25/member and $30/non-member.
Cost per each class includes video showings, child watch, lite refreshments, and workbook. Each session meets in the Fort Mill Branch YMCA’s conference room.

Adult Art Classes with Jack Bolin

Interested persons on the beginner and intermediate levels will learn how to paint with acrylics. Classes begin for session I on Wednesday, September 9, 2009,
from 1 – 3 pm. Each session is four weeks long and will be conducted in the large meeting room. Cost is $80 (supplies not included) and $95 (supplies included). (Cost is the same for all, whether a Y member or not.) (Session II – October 7 – 28). (Minimum number of 7 registrants required per class.)

Cartooning and Comic Clinic

Cartoonist Dave McDonald will host a clinic focused on the art of comics and cartoons. Participants will explore penciling, inking, and lettering techniques and tools. He will discuss writing for and working in comic art and illustration. Participants will create their own characters and comics. The clinic will be held Saturday, October 24 from 8 am – 12 Noon at the Fort Mill Branch YMCA for ages 12 – 17. The cost is $35/member and $45/non-member which includes supplies. (Minimum number of 12 is required.)

S.K.I.P. Program

Skills for Kids and Interactive Play. This 8 week program will cover fundamental motor pattern activites designed to enhance sports skills, core strength, balance flexibility. Class size is limited. Please call either Lisa Arrage or Donna McClellan for dates/times and questions.

Home School PE

The Fort Mill YMCA will be offering Home School PE starting in the fall. These classes include a structured, weekly Physical Education program for K-5 graders that include health and wellness, strength, conditioning, games, athletic conditioning and much, much more. Please contact Lisa Arrage at 8703 548 8020 at the Fort Mill YMCA with any questions.

The first session of Home School PE will start on September 10 and end December 1, 2009. You can register your child at the front desk of the Fort Mill YMCA starting August 10, 2009.

Middle School Mania

Don't miss out on Middle School Mania held on Saturday evenings from 7-10pm. Dance with our DJ, play basketball or just hang o ut with your friends in "The Zone." Concessions will be sold. School dress code applies. Guests must leave with an approved adult.

Wee Fit/Kids Bootcamp

Wee Fit is a fitness class for preschool children that utilizes their gross motor skills and burns off some energy! Kids Bootcamp is a fun, energetic workout for kids grades K-5. Schedules for these classes can be found in the Monthly Group Excercise Brochure. These classes are included in your family membership and you can sign up for them in childwatch. F3P

F3P is a program for girls, ages 13-19, which off ers a fun way to stay active
and get fit! This 3 month program includes body composition analysis,
measurements, strength training, and a variety of cardio workouts for
1-hour sessions, 2 days a week by nationally certifi ed trainer Amy Staats.
Cost for members is $79 and $99 for non-members. Program registration

"In Balance"

This 8 week program is designed to improve balance among those experiencing a natural decline in this area. Uses the Wii Fit Balance Board and additional balance tools. Class meets T/Th -1:00-2:00 and Sat-9:00-10:00. Class size limited to nine. Members: $90; Non Members: $114. Instructed by Brenda Marshall, Personal Traineer and assisted by Donna Diedrich, Physical Therapist.

Wii Bowling

Back by popular demand! We'll meet in the zone from 12:30-2:00. Please bring some finger food to share! Cost $1.00 per game donation. August 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. date to be determined.
