Snowmobiling at Yellowstone

Snowmobiling at Yellowstone

We have two exciting snowmobile trips this year! Enjoy one or two days of snowmobiling in the forest surrounding West Yellowstone, Montana, and a one day guided tour into Yellowstone National Park in a “snow coach” or by snowmobile. You will see abundant wildlife including buffalo, elk, moose and more, and a winter wonderland of snow covered mountains and world famous geysers!

Ages Restrictions:
In order to drive a snowmobile, you must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver license. Any age may ride double with an adult.

Registration Dates:
Receive a $50 per person discount if you register before September 7, 2018.

What is the best swim lesson level for my child?

Parent-Child
6 months – 3 years old
Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.

In this swim basics program, preschoolers learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills—swim, float, swim and jump, push, turn, grab. Through multiple sessions, children may progress to water movement, water stamina and stroke introduction.

Adult lessons help those who have an acute fear of the water up to those that need advanced stroke development. The course is fun and low key, with the participant setting the pace of the course. Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a one-year, community-based program where participants work in small groups with a trained Lifestyle Coach in a relaxed, classroom setting. In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.

Swim Team

Swim Team

Ages: 4 –  18

The YMCA is organizing a competitive swim team for kids. This league will focus on developing quality stroke technique including free style, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly.  Divisions will be based on age.  Swimmers will compete against other YMCAs in the South Carolina League. Before an individual can join the Chester Swim Team they must swim 25 yards. All swim meets will be held on scheduled Saturdays.

Swim Team Practice:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday
