American Red Cross Life Guard Class

American Red Cross Life Guard Class

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training instructors will train and certify participants in American Red Cross Lifeguard programs. The program will include CPR/First Aid/AED and emergency oxygen. Certifications can be used to work at YMCA pools as well as other aquatic facilities.

What is the best swim lesson level for my child?

Parent-Child
6 months – 3 years old
Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.

Preschool
3-5 years old
In this swim basics program, preschoolers learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills—swim, float, swim and jump, push, turn, grab. Through multiple sessions, children may progress to water movement, water stamina and stroke introduction.

Adult lessons help those who have an acute fear of the water up to those that need advanced stroke development. The course is fun and low key, with the participant setting the pace of the course.
