Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.

Youth Soccer

Youth Soccer

Soccer program based on teaching the fundamental of soccer (dribbling, kicking and passing), sportsmanship, and team work in a fun environment. The YMCA will provide jersey, shorts and socks. Parents will be responsible for providing cleats, shin guards, and mouthpieces (optional). U9 players will have evaluations on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 5:30 pm.

The Baxter YMCA will be partnering with the Town of Fort Mill for the U9 soccer league this season. Teams will be splitting this age group into single gender teams this fall. 

Practices will begin August 24 for U5 | August 19 for U7 and U9
Coaches meeting August 12, 2019 at 6:00 pm

Ages: U5: 3-4 | U7: 5-6 | U9: 7-8

Moore Fundamentals

This program is led by Chris Moore Local Minor League Basketball Player who has been a 6 time League MVP and 7 time 1st Team All-League Performer. This camp is designed to work on fundamentals of basketball; ball handling, shooting, footwork, defense, and many more. Program is directly connected with Fort Mill School District to get kids involved with basketball and to also have them aware of programs at the YMCA.

Smith Elite AAU Open Run

Terell Smithh and Smith Elite Training have partnered with the Baxter YMCA to start an AAU basketball program. Join Terell Smith this summer for free open runs. Open runs will give you a chance to show off your talents prior to the tryouts in September.

There will be parent meetings on June 25th and June 27th at 6:30pm.

CFDA Futsal Camp

CFDA Futsal Camp

This is such a fun environment where players of varying age and skill level can have fun with a ball at their feet in a very low stress, high energy setting. These camps are held throughout the year and are focused on individual player skills and the fundamentals of the sport of Futsal. Players work on concepts such as: Passing, Dribbling, Juggling, Shooting, and freestyle skills.

Daily Schedule: 

8 am – 9 am Drop off

9 am – 12 pm On court (training)

12 pm – 1 pm Lunch (free time)

1 pm – 3 pm On court (training)

3 pm – 4 pm Pickup time

*Camp officially starts at 9 am and ends at 3 pm.

Join us for friends, fun and sun! The Upper Palmetto YMCA summer camps provide activities that are educational, exciting and fun, but more importantly, it is an experience that builds self esteem, lasting friendships and treasured memories.

Summer day camp is a full day program with activities including weekly themes, field trips, swimming, games, daily devotions, team building activities, arts and crafts, character development and much more!

Our staff works diligently to make participation in our program a positive experience. We choose leaders who exemplify outstanding character, compassion and a love of children. We are committed to a thorough recruitment process including a drug screening and background check. Each staff member participates in comprehensive training and is CPR and First-Aid certified.

Financial assistance is available. Please complete the financial assistance application available online or pick-up one at the front desk. Please allow 4 weeks for processing before your child’s anticipated start date.

The program is closed on July 4th.

A four week ongoing program (formerly known as Metabolic Makeover) designed to instruct participants in effective weight training and cardiovascular exercise. This program includes weekly lectures that will help you stay on track, take your workouts to the next level and continue eating in a healthy manner.

Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a one-year, community-based program where participants work in small groups with a trained Lifestyle Coach in a relaxed, classroom setting. In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.

“…programs like YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program reduce new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58% overall and 71% in individuals over age 60.” – research from the National Institutes of Health
