Triathlon Training: Sprint or Olympic

Triathlon Training: Sprint or Olympic

This is a triathlon training program designed to improve your running, swimming and cycling. This training will help prepare individuals for a Sprint or Olympic triathlon event. Swim and cycling experts will visit training sessions to provide additional guidance throughout the program. Participants will need to be able to swim 50 M without stopping, bike 10 miles and run at least 1.5 miles before beginning this training. There will be an informal meeting with the coach on February 5, 2019.

*Tuesday sessions will alternate swimming at the Fort Mill Baxter YMCA indoor pool and cycling at the Gold Hill YMCA cycle room.

Rock Steady Boxing Against Parkinson Disease

At Rock Steady the opponent is Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady Boxing is a program designed to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back using speed, muscular endurance, footwork and agility to defend against and overcome opponents. Revamp Your Training

Ages: 15 – 70

A four week ongoing program (formerly known as Metabolic Makeover) designed to instruct participants in effective weight training and cardiovascular exercise. This program includes weekly lectures that will help you stay on track, take your workouts to the next level and continue eating in a healthy manner.

ATZ EXTREME

Take your training to the next level with high intensity group training in our new ATZ (Athletic Training Zone) Challenge yourself with Olympic style weight lifting, box jumps, tire flips, kettlebell swings, and much more!

This is an ongoing monthly small group training program.

Youth Fitness Guidelines

The following guidelines are in place for the safety and well-being of all of our YMCA participants while in the Fitness Center.

Individuals 12 through 14 years of age must go through a YMCA Youth Strength two hour training class with John Adams.  This class will teach the youth the proper lifting techniques, in addition to reviewing guidelines for proper behavior and gym etiquette on the Fitness Floor. A signed parental consent form on file to use cardio equipment and machines is also required. Consent forms & orientation times can be obtained at the front service desk or fitness staff. Youth Age 12 and up  may participate in GROUP FITNESS CLASSES with adult supervision. Please note there are specific “Kid Fit” classes for children ages 3 – 12 years of age available weekly.                                    

Youth Age 15 and up have access to use all fitness floor equipment and attend all group fitness classes.

The goal of the personal training program is to evaluate, motivate and educate anyone who desires the extra edge personal training offers. If you are ready to see results, start personal training today! One on one fitness training with a nationally certified trainer. Register online or call branch for details. Wee Fit/Kids Boot Camp/Wee Yoga

Wee Fit is a fitness class for children aged 3-5 years old. This class utilizes their gross motor skills and burns off some energy!

Wee-Yoga is a Yoga class for children aged 3-5 years old.

Kids Boot Camp is a fun, energetic workout for kids grades K-5.
