Zero to Heroes

Superman, Captain America, Hercules, Abraham Lincoln, Clara Barton, Todd Beamer, Robin Hood and Alexander the Great are all heroes who have incredible stories. Campers will explore what makes a hero while learning the history, geography and character of a hero.

Log Rolling

Roll through the winter with the Log Rolling Club at the Baxter YMCA! All ages and skill levels welcome. Whether you are just giving it a try or a regular club member, you will be with certified log rolling instructors giving you all the coaching you need to progress your skills while having fun.

American Red Cross Jr. Lifeguard

American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard Training will guild youth to the American Red Cross lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. They will learn techniques and build stamina during this program. THEY WILL NOT RECEIVE A CERTIFICATION IN Lifeguarding or CPR/First Aid, AT THE END OF THE COURSE.

This program will be offered on two different weeks this summer. Choose only one week to attend.

Explore the Earth, its atmosphere, oceans, geology, habitats and ecology. In this camp, participants will learn how to enjoy and protect the Earth’s resources. The children will conduct science experiences and create art from recycled items using unique mediums.

Take the stage to retell familiar fairytales with the greatest hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s! Sing, dance and act your way through an exciting week of Performing Arts Camp. Speaking roles are available for all participants, giving everyone an opportunity to be in the spotlight. Performing Arts help students develop imagination, creativity, focus and confidence. Not only will students sing, dance and act but they will learn some history along the way as they perform hits from Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and many more!

American Girl History Camp

American Girl History Camp

 American Girl Doll, Kitridge (1930-1950)

What was America like from 1930-1950? Events like the Great Depression and World War II changed the lives of girls in America. Enjoy exploring the lifestyles and events of this important period of history. During class girls will have the opportunity to study history with hands-on projects as they learn the difficulties and triumphs of the era. Girls will enjoy journalism, art,music, home arts, geography, economics and of course history through the stories and characters of Kit and Ruthie.
