Stroke Clinic-Breaststroke

Breaststroke clinic will help to strengthen swimmers’ breaststroke starts, turns, underwater pullouts, and race finishing skills. Advancing swimmers techniques can benefit them by becoming faster and more efficient in the water, which can lead to future meets being more fun and competitive.

Stroke Clinic-Backstroke/Freestyle

Each participant will learn techniques to race faster in their freestyle and backstroke at the swim clinic. Clinic will go over the most important aspects of what each participants needs to know in both technically challenging strokes.

Stroke Clinic-Butterfly

Students will learn butterfly step by step from the ground up. Perfect for new swimmers and young swimmers that want to learn butterfly. It is also a good opportunity for younger butter-flyers to learn more about the butterfly and how to make the stroke easier.

Snowmobiling at Yellowstone

Snowmobiling at Yellowstone

We have two exciting snowmobile trips this year! Enjoy one or two days of snowmobiling in the forest surrounding West Yellowstone, Montana, and a one day guided tour into Yellowstone National Park in a “snow coach” or by snowmobile. You will see abundant wildlife including buffalo, elk, moose and more, and a winter wonderland of snow covered mountains and world famous geysers!

Ages Restrictions:
In order to drive a snowmobile, you must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver license. Any age may ride double with an adult.

The Fort Mill Complex is offering competitive cheerleading to children ages 4 to 14 years old of all ability levels. All children are welcome ad will be placed on a team. Our program is designed to develop fitness, confidence, and team unity through cheerleading. No prior experience is required! The season will run August through March/April 2019.

Rock Steady Boxing Against Parkinson Disease

At Rock Steady the opponent is Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady Boxing is a program designed to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back using speed, muscular endurance, footwork and agility to defend against and overcome opponents. Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.

Welcome to Preschool at the Complex!
Thank you for choosing Preschool at the Complex!  Our goal is to provide a safe, stimulating and fun environment for children to learn through participation.  We incorporate the Y’s core values: Honesty, Responsibility, Respect and Caring in our activities.   The Upper Palmetto YMCA is committed to providing the highest quality Preschool possible.  We are excited about the unique programming opportunities provided by our Preschool program. We strive to develop the whole child through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. This program offers quality, affordable preschool programming for children ages 3-5. Class space is limited.

Registration Open to the Public (members and non-members)
Registration will be for children who turn 3 on or before September 1, 2018, and for children who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2018. We do require that all children within our program be completely potty trained, and have up-to-date immunizations before the start of the school year in September. Regular preschool hours for age 3 are 9 am – 12 pm, and regular preschool hours for age 4 is 9 am – 12:30 pm.

Preschool Programs
All programs require a nonrefundable $125 registration fee upon registration. The last month’s tuition fee will be due on July 1, 2018. All program fees must be paid through auto draft or bank draft. A registration fee is not required to be placed on the wait list.

3-Year-Old Program
Classes introduce children to working within a group and develops fine and gross motor skills including socializing, sharing, cut-and-paste, numbers and alphabet recognition. (Children must turn three on or before September 1, 2018.)

Our four-year-old program prepares children for kindergarten on both a social and educational level. We will continue developing fine and gross motor skills, while putting emphasis on the alphabet, numbers and other kindergarten readiness skills. (Children must turn four on or before September 1, 2018.)

Payment Policy for 2017-2018 School Year
1) First and last month tuition is required prior to the start of school.
2) Remaining monthly payments need to be set up on our auto draft system. This can be done through a credit card or bank draft.

For payment information please contact the Preschool Director, Rhonda Wild, at or 803-5471064. Preschool staff are unable to process any payments.

Auto draft will be required for the remainder of the monthly school year tuition which will be drafted on the first business day of each month beginning in September.

The building is secure and access is monitored by staff during all hours of preschool operation. The program offers six classrooms, an outdoor natural playground, a preschool hiking trail and outdoor classroom and access to appropriate amenities within the Recreation Complex.

Preschool at the Complex is part of the Fort Mill Complex at the UPYMCA located at 971 Tom Hall Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Inclement Weather Policy
When faced with potentially dangerous weather conditions, the Preschool at the Complex will follow the Fort Mill School District’s decision on closings. Information can be found on their website,, and on local news stations in Rock Hill and Charlotte – we are York County District 4.

If the FMSD should delay public school openings, Preschool at the Complex will open at its normal time of 9:00am. Public school delays may be found at the sources listed above.

Should inclement weather occur after preschool begins, we encourage parents to pick up their child as soon as possible.
