Metabolic Makeover Summer Program

Ages: 18 to 70

This comprehensive 8 week wellness program is perfect for the beginner or de-conditioned, but all levels are welcome! Metabolic Makeover will provide the basics of exercise with instruction on proper form and alignment for strength training and options on impact and modality for cardiovascular training. For those who are already fit, Metabolic Makeover will offer some variety and provide the necessary tools to constantly challenge themselves physically. Included is a full fitness assessment and body composition analysis. Clients will participate in 24 small group training sessions with a certified Metabolic Makeover trainer and will enjoy the built in group accountability and encouragement. Members are asked to maintain a daily food journal and will receive general nutritional guidance and advice.

The Metabolic Makeover Manual (included) and access to the Metabolic Makeover website will provide great information that will help clients make healthy lifestyle changes instead of quick fixes.

More Fun This Summer!  The Upper Palmetto YMCA summer camps provide activities that are educational, exciting and fun, but more importantly, it is an experience that builds self esteem, lasting friendships and treasured memories.

Our staff works diligently to help make participation in our program a positive experience. We to choose leaders who exemplify outstanding character, compassion and a love of children. Each staff member has received at least 20 hours of training, and is CPR and First-Aid certified.

Summer day camp is a full day program with activities including weekly themes, field trips, swimming, games, daily devotions, team building activities, arts and crafts, character development and much more!

Program Dates: June 9-August 15, 2014
Program Times: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Cost: Weekly
A limited amount of financial assistance is available. Please complete the application available at the YMCA Front Offices and allow 2-4 weeks for processing from the time of registration.

Challenger’s British Soccer Camp

Challenger’s British Soccer Camp

The camp will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website.

“Video Game Challenge” Camp

Don’t just play games! Make them! Create your very own video game in this fun and stimulating camp for mini gamers. Design your very own Arcade or Platform game by exploring the principles of game design. Campers will be introduced to the principles of concept and storytelling through hands on project development and engineering. Campers will have the opportunity to design characters, objects, shapes, structures, and concepts all based on creativity. At the conclusion, campers will challenge each other with their own completed video game! All campers will receive a Video Challenge T-Shirt.

Bricks 4 Kidz: Angry Birds – Catapulting Critters

New for 2014!  Welcome to the world of Angry Birds and Bad Piggies….Bricks 4 Kidz Style.  During our camp you will learn to build machines bricks, gears and more that will launch birds with catapults and slingshots to abolish bad pigs.  And, you will learn how to craft mosaics and other items from LEGO bricks and other Use your imagination to make different hats for your piggies and attempt to make all the different colored birds with LEGO bricks!  Camp Video, T-shirt and prizes included. Turn a LEGO creation into a robot, animal, or machine and program it to do exactly what you tell it to do.  The Bricks 4 Kidz Junior Robotics camp offers all the fun of building with LEGO bricks, gears, motors and more – PLUS the challenge and fun of computer programming – equipping your child to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. We’ll mix in some friendly ‘coopetitions’ (working together to compete) to keep them energized and moving.  This ‘techy’ and action-packed week combines real-life skills with real-kid fun! Camp Video, T-shirt and prizes included.

Bricks 4 Kidz: Minecraft I – Mining & Crafting with LEGO bricks

Experience the world of Minecraft® using LEGO® Bricks in this fun and challenging camp!  In the popular Minecraft game, a player takes on an avatar to use resources to explore and build and craft items.  Bricks 4 Kidz takes it to a whole-new level by adding motorized models, mosaics and more!  Daily Challenges on the full version of the game and crafting lots of cool creations.  Campers will build and take home a daily project!  Camp Video, T-shirt and prizes included.
