Train Like a Spartan

This 8-week Spartan Obstacle training will challenge you in strength, agility, and endurance preparing you for the various sprints and obstacles you will face during the Charlotte Sprint on April  11 and April 12, 2015.

Fast Feet: 10K Marathon

This running program will coach runners to train for a 10k up to a marathon. The class includes clinics on form, nutrition, pace, and injury prevention. This class will meet at the Fort Mill YMCA.

Fort Mill Polar Plunge

Are you Bold or Cold? Join us for our Inaugural Polar Plunge & Chicken Challenge. Challenge your friends for a great cause! Each challenge ticket is $20, or ride all slides for $40. In order to “chicken out” of the challenge, your friends can pay an additional $20 to NOT participate. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA 2015 Annual Campaign.

The Fort Mill YMCA Athletic Training Zone is open! Shake-up your routine with the workout of the day. Members have access to the ATZ after an orientation. Orientations are ongoing. Contact the Fort Mill YMCA to register.

Cost to use the ATZ:
$0 for members
Use of the ATZ is available to members only.

Orientation Cost:
$25 for members
$50 for non-members

 


Elite Athletes ATZ

Ages: 7-18

This is a small group sports training class that will help young athletes to become faster, stronger, and more explosive. The classes meet twice weekly and are held in the Fort Mill YMCA ATZ (Athletic Training Zone) or out on the soccer fields.

Monthly Program:

4:00 – 5:00 pm

Home School PE

Participants will acquire a wide knowledge of various skills, games, and activities relevant to a personal level of competence. Evaluations are available upon request that will address student’s progress, behavior, and suggestions for continued improvement.

*Participants must be registered one week prior to session start date.

*Program must have 6 participants or the session will be cancelled.

Ages: K – 5th grades

Session Dates:

Thursdays: February 5 – 26, March 5 – 26, April 9 – 30, & May 7 – 28

Times: 10:30 to 11:30 am.

Youth Fast Feet

Ages: 7-15

Encourage your child’s pursuit of running in our fun, safe and positive training program. We will train and coach youth runners to complete a 5k while encouraging good sportsmanship, teaching team building skills and the basics of running.

Lifeguarding Training Course

Ages: 15 and up

This class certifies participants in American Red Cross Lifeguarding which includes lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Emergency Oxygen and First Aid. Students must pass a pre-requisite swimming exam of 300 yards before being allowed to continue with the class. Certifications can be used to work at the YMCA pools as well as other aquatic facilities.

Metabolic Makeover I

Ages: 18 & up

This comprehensive 12 week wellness program is perfect for the beginner or de-conditioned, but all levels are welcome! Metabolic Makeover will provide the basics of exercise with instruction on proper form and alignment for strength training and options on impact and modality for cardiovascular training. For those who are already fit, Metabolic Makeover will offer some variety and provide the necessary tools to constantly challenge themselves physically. Included is a full fitness assessment and body composition analysis. Clients will participate in 36 or 24 small group training sessions with a certified Metabolic Makeover trainer and will enjoy the built in group accountability and encouragement. Members are asked to maintain a daily food journal and will receive general nutritional guidance and advice.
