“Lion King Extravaganza”
Ages: 6-16
Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the “Lion King” live! The day will include workshops at the Blumenthal Theater in Charlotte, a possible “meet and greet” with cast members of the production, pizza and snacks, orchestra section seats for the evening performance, and transportation to and from the event.

2013 Summer Swim League: Fort Mill Marlins
The Upper Palmetto YMCA is organizing a summer swim league for members and nonmembers in 2013. Swimmers 18 and under are welcome. This league will focus on developing quality stroke technique, participation and FUNdamentals. Swimmers will participate in practices 3 days a week and will have a meet once per week. Divisions will be based on age; 8 & under, 9 & 10, 11& 12, 13 & up. The swimmer’s age as of June 1st will determine their division for the season. Invitational meets will be held on Thursdays in May & June with a league Championship in late June. The league will be comprised of teams from Charlotte Avenue YMCA, Fort Mill YMCA, Chester YMCA, and the Aquatics Center YMCA. Each team will host meets and travel to other sites to compete. This league is designed for developing athletes. *Swimmers who are over 13 years old holding a year round USA Swimming Card and having achieved a USA Swimming “A” Time may not participate.

Operation Fit Kid Camp
Ages: 8-11
Campers will gain more knowledge regarding ways to feel good in spirit, mind, and body by learning the importance of being physically active and by making healthy food choices. Each lesson will consist of three components: fitness, nutrition, and understanding the mission statement and core values of the YMCA. This program is endorsed by the American Council on Exercise and is appropriate for all youth.

Performing Arts Camp: “Experience Broadway”
Ages: Rising 3rd graders – Rising 8th graders
Campers will experience the thrill of preparing a musical production full of music from some of the greatest Broadway musicals to hit the stage. Develop skills and technique needed for performance during a week of dance, music, and acting. As campers work hard to prepare the week’s show, they will also have fun playing theatrical games, receive visits by experts in the field of theater, and much more. Reading for parts will be held Monday, July 15, from 4-6 pm.

Beam Me Up Scotty, Engineering Camp
Ages: 7-10
Campers will explore various aspects of technology utilizing functionality and principles of hands on project development and engineering. Campers will design and engineer their very own rocket. They will experience the design engineering of a rocket, while applying the physics of science and technology to its aerodynamics.

Make It Up 2: Cosmetic Camp
Ages: 11-14
Campers will learn the principles of science fused with the practicality and functionality of technology. Campers will have the chance to make their own cosmetic makeup line. Discover the secrets to becoming a successful cosmetic designer by creating (Green) toxic free products. At the conclusion of each camp there will be a makeover party, utilizing their very own cosmetic line.

Ages: 11-14
Don’t just play games! Make them! Create your very own video game in this fun, stimulating video game camp for kids. Design your very own Arcade or Platform game by exploring the principles of game design. Campers will be introduced to the principles of concept and storytelling through hands on project development and engineering while creating characters, objects, shapes, structures, and much more.
