Preschool At The Complex

The Fort Mill YMCA Preschool at the Complex Program connects children to the natural world through discovery, education and recreation, while preparing students for Kindergarten readiness. This program offers quality, affordable preschool programming for children ages 3-5. Class space is limited.

6U Soccer Program

Soccer program based on teaching the basic fundamentals of soccer, sportsmanship, team work in a fun environment. Participants will have a 15 minute practice and then a game.

Challenger’s British Soccer Camp

Challenger’s British Soccer Camp

The camp will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website.

YMCA Adventure Guides

Adventure Guides is a father/child program that provides opportunities for fathers and children to spend quality time together making memories. The program is designed to build strong lasting relationships by understanding companionship and a shared appreciation for the outdoors. Fall and spring trips are included. All other events are optional and will require a separate registration.
Additional fees will include camping materials and food during camping trips. YMCA Camp Cherokee will provide meals during the Fall and Spring Longhouse events.

 


Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a one-year, community-based program where participants work in small groups with a trained Lifestyle Coach in a relaxed, classroom setting. In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.

After School

The Upper Palmetto YMCA is committed to providing the highest quality After School care possible. We are excited about the unique programming opportunities provided by our After School program. We incorporate the basic Christian values of honesty, responsibility, respect and caring in our activities. Our program is designed to enhance your child’s school day through activities such as homework support, field trips, large and small group games, devotions and singing.

We strive to develop the whole child through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, including the following:

Healthy Spirit -We offer daily devotion time, and a group discussion time, where youth have the opportunity to reflect on their day, talk about issues and concerns impacting their lives. Youth also develop a stronger understanding of the core YMCA values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring.

Healthy Mind -We know how important homework time is. We provide a structured study room where youth have 30-45 minutes of homework time. Staff are on hand to support youth as they work on their assigments.

Healthy Body – In an effort to promote healthy living, the YMCA provides at least 30 minutes of daily fitness time. Activities may include:kickball game, team sports, relay races, group games, or yoga.

A limited amount of financial assistance is available. Please complete the application available at the YMCA Front Offices and allow 3-4 weeks for processing prior to the first day of enrollment.  After School Financial Assistance is applied during the After School/Summer Day Camp cycle beginning in August and ending the following August.

Summer Day Camp

Join us for the #BestSummerEver! The Upper Palmetto YMCA summer camps provide activities that are educational, exciting and fun, but more importantly, it is an experience that builds self esteem, lasting friendships and treasured memories.

Summer day camp is a full day program with activities including weekly themes, field trips, swimming, games, daily devotions, team building activities, arts and crafts, character development and much more!

Our staff works diligently to make participation in our program a positive experience. We choose leaders who exemplify outstanding character, compassion and a love of children. We are committed to a thorough recruitment process including a drug screening and background check. Each staff member participates in comprehensive training and is CPR and First-Aid certified.

Financial assistance is available. Please complete the financial assistance application available online or pick-up one at the front desk. Please allow 4 weeks for processing before your child’s anticipated start date.

The program is closed on July 4th.

Fast Feet: Couch to 5k

This is a beginner training program designed to get participants off the couch onto the roads; running three miles in 7 weeks. This is a coach led program that offers weekly trainings, motivation, support and encouragement.
