Our karate classes teach children respect, self-discipline, focus and how to lead a healthy lifestyle. The Fort Mill YMCA at the Complex has been providing Karate classes for over 30 years. Instructor, Charles Lingerfelt, holds the rank of Seventh Degree Black Belt. This program is offered in November and December.

Youth Basketball

A 7 week basketball league for kids ages 9-17 years old. This is not a co-ed league, boys and girls are separated. Each team will practice one day a week and then have a game on Saturday, the boys U17 league (Ages 15-17) will play on Friday nights. Each league will end with a playoff at the end of the season. There will be an evaluation for this age group the week of December 10-15.

*Teams may not be requested. They will be put together based on the evaluations.

Put on your best costume and join us for this family friendly, Boo-Tastic Halloween Dance! The dance will be held at the Fort Mill YMCA Complex and prizes will be offered for the Best Family Themed costume and for Most Original costume, 10 and under. 3rd Annual Cookies with Santa and Holiday Artisan Fair

Please join us for BAXTER YMCA’s 3rd Annual Cookies with Santa and Holiday Artisan Fair. Enjoy shopping for the season with local, holiday gift vendors. Children are invited to get their picture taken with Santa, bounce in the bounce house and make a holiday craft. Food trucks, giveaways, a selfie station and a Macaroni Kids craft corner will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Upper Palmetto YMCA Annual Campaign, which assures every child has the opportunity to attend camp and participate in youth programs.

Snowmobiling at Yellowstone

We have two exciting snowmobile trips this year! Enjoy one or two days of snowmobiling in the forest surrounding West Yellowstone, Montana, and a one day guided tour into Yellowstone National Park in a “snow coach” or by snowmobile. You will see abundant wildlife including buffalo, elk, moose and more, and a winter wonderland of snow covered mountains and world famous geysers!

Ages Restrictions:
In order to drive a snowmobile, you must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver license. Any age may ride double with an adult.

Receive a $50 per person discount if you register before September 7, 2018.

At Rock Steady the opponent is Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady Boxing is a program designed to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back using speed, muscular endurance, footwork and agility to defend against and overcome opponents. Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a one-year, community-based program where participants work in small groups with a trained Lifestyle Coach in a relaxed, classroom setting. In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.

“…programs like YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program reduce new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58% overall and 71% in individuals over age 60.” – research from the National Institutes of Health
