SAT Math Prep

SAT Math Prep

To improve, you must PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! These workshops will help students refresh their math skills and give them the opportunity to practice solving various SAT math problems. Students will learn about the structure of the SAT math test and gather useful test-taking strategies. Each student should bring a calculator to the workshop. During the 2-hour workshop, the students will also complete and score a practice exam. Each workshop will provide new content and focus on the four content areas presented on the math section of the SAT:

This workshop is facilitated by Janice Groves, a National Board Certified Math Teacher with 20 years of teaching experience.

Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a one-year, community-based program where participants work in small groups with a trained Lifestyle Coach in a relaxed, classroom setting. In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.
