In 16 weekly sessions followed by 8 monthly sessions, participants learn how to incorporate healthier eating, moderate physical activity, and problem-solving and coping skills into their daily lives. Participants will get the hands-on support they need from Lifestyle Coaches trained on a CDC-approved curriculum that is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.

Race for Chase Triathlon Training Program

The CMAK Foundation has collaborated with the YMCA to sponsor the Race4Chase Kid’s Triathlon in memoriam of Chase Kowalski, the students, and educators of the Sandy Hook tragedy. This six week summer program aims to keep Chase’s energetic spirit alive by inspiring athleticism within children, ages 6 to 12, and providing them with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to develop a new love for the sport of triathlon.  All athletes are instructed in swimming, biking, and running, and are also taught the fundamentals of good nutrition and flexibility. At the end of program, all of the athletes in each community compete in a short-course USAT-sanctioned youth triathlon race. Registration is currently open and will close when spots are filled.

When a young person becomes a member of the RAYS Swim Team, he / she learns the values of sportsmanship and team work along with the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility. Swimming through the RAYS, provides physical, emotional and intellectual skills that last a lifetime. Our primary practice facility is the Rock Hill Aquatic Center located at 325 Rawlinson Rd. Low Impact Aquatics

Low Impact Aquatics

Ages: 15 and older

Find relief by taking this course, which puts you through specific exercises to alleviate some of the aches and pains caused by arthritis.

Aqua Aerobics

Aqua Aerobics is a wonderful class for swimmers and non swimmers of all fitness levels. If you have never exercised, have joint aches and pains, have arthritis or would love to get a great workout and mix up your usual exercise routine, we have a class for you. Aqua aerobic classes have most of the fat burning and endurance building benefits that you get from other forms of aerobic activity. An aqua aerobics class will allow you to burn between 350 and 700 calories in a one hour class due to the increased resistance to movement in the water.

Aqua aerobic benefits include :
» Great for all fitness levels
» Good for weight loss/fat burning
» Builds strength and flexibility
» Excellent cardio respiratory exercise
» Reduced impact on joints
» Tones muscles
» Improved balance and posture
» Increase flexibility, reducing capability for injury

The Aquatics center offers day and evening aqua aerobics classes as well as arthritis aquatic classes and pre natal/post natal aqua aerobics classes. Click here to view our schedules online or call 803-817-POOL (7665) for class times or information.
