Beginner Fleet Feet Running
Ages: 12-101
Fleet Feet Beginner class is designed to help participants start training (beginner) or continue training (intermediate) for an upcoming 5k. Programs are individually designed to help participants reach their goals. Topics discussed in the session will include training principles, training tips, proper footwear, strength and flexibility, health and nutrition and getting to the starting line ready to perform. The class will meet each week on Wednesday and Saturday for 6 weeks.

Instructor Bio:
Brandon Hudgins has been a competitive runner for over 16 years. Starting with local cross-country and road races. While at Northwestern High School, Brandon set school records in the 1600m and 3200 run, was All-State Distance Runner 6 times, and a State Champion in the 1600m. While competing at Winthrop University, he earned All-Conference honors 4 times, set 4 school records, all while earning his Bachelor Degree in Physical Education/ Fitness and Wellness. He later transferred to Appalachian State University where he earned his Master’s in Exercise Science/ Conference Champion and earned the NCAA All American Academic Honors, was a part of the 6 Southern Conference Team Championships and qualified for the 1st Round of the NCAA D1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships (1500m). He is still training hard and competes in cross-country races, road races and track races for the shoe company Saucony with the hopes of making the USATF Championships and Olympic Trails.
Fitness Classes
Certified exercise instructors teach all fitness classes. All aerobics classes contain cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility exercises. (The durations and intensity of each depends on the class description.) Zumba
Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow you away.
The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
Sit to Be Fit
Sit to Be Fit is a chair based class that involves light weight exercises using weights and exercise bands. Stretching is also involved as well as exercises used to alleviate the pain of arthritis.
Yoga Classes
Gentle Yoga
For both new and experienced practitioners who seek a gentle yet effective approach to their Yoga. A slow, relaxing approach to learning traditional yoga poses. Great for beginners or those who prefer a more gentle routine.
Beginner Yoga
This class offers a slow style of yoga based on the primary series to accommodate all levels of students. Strengthens the musculature, improves flexibility, calms the mind and decreases stress. It moves each joint in the body through its full range of motion-stretching, strengthening and balancing each area.
Yoga
Reduces stress, enhances breathing, relaxes, tones muscles and more through a mindful method of mental and physical well-being training.
